Karsenics Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: September 27, 2026 · Last Updated: September 27, 2026
Karsenics builds software for Pride organizations, civic festival committees, and community groups. The people who register through it include disabled exhibitors, disabled volunteers, and disabled parade participants. Accessibility is not a compliance item for this company, it is the audience.
1. What we are working toward
Karsenics works toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA across karsenics.com and the Karsenics platform, including participant registration pages and the administrative console.
2. Where we actually are
We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit. We build to WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a design standard and we test with keyboard navigation and screen readers during development, but we are not claiming conformance until an independent audit supports it. We would rather tell you that than publish a claim we cannot stand behind. If you hit a barrier, tell us and we will fix it.
3. What we build for
- Keyboard access. Every interactive element reachable and operable without a mouse, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen readers. Semantic HTML, labeled form fields, described errors, and announced status changes.
- Color and contrast. Text meeting WCAG AA contrast ratios, and no information conveyed by color alone. This matters in a product full of status badges and map legends.
- Text sizing. Content usable at 200 percent zoom without loss of function.
- Forms. Clear labels, inline error messages tied to their field, and no reliance on placeholder text as a label. Registration is a long form, and long forms are where accessibility fails quietly.
- Motion. Respect for the reduced-motion browser preference.
- Time limits. No session timeout that would cause a registrant to lose a partly completed registration without warning and a way to extend it.
4. Known limitations
| Area | Limitation | Workaround | Target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interactive booth and parade maps | Visual map interfaces are difficult to make fully equivalent for screen reader users | A text list of available spaces with the same information is available alongside every map | Ongoing |
| Organization-supplied content | Event artwork, uploaded PDFs, and custom question wording are supplied by the organization and are outside Karsenics' control | Organizations are responsible for their own content; Karsenics provides guidance | Ongoing |
| Third-party components | The payment and electronic signature steps are rendered by third parties whose accessibility Karsenics does not control | If you cannot complete one of these steps, contact us and we will help you finish your registration | Ongoing |
5. What organizations are responsible for
Karsenics supplies the software. The organization running an event is responsible for the accessibility of its own content and of the event itself, including the artwork it uploads, the wording of its custom questions, any PDF it links, and the physical accessibility of its venue. Organizations that receive public funding may have their own legal obligations, including under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504. Karsenics does not assess or advise on those.
6. Tell us when something does not work
This is the part that matters most. If any part of karsenics.com or the platform is not usable for you, email hello@karsenics.com with the subject line "Accessibility." Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology you were using if you know it.
Our commitment: we acknowledge within two business days, tell you within ten business days what we found and when we expect to fix it, and offer an alternative way to complete what you were doing in the meantime. If you are trying to register for an event and cannot, tell us and we will get you registered while we fix the underlying problem.
7. Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response, email legal@karsenics.com and it will be reviewed by the company's president. We do not require you to exhaust this step before pursuing any other remedy.
